I have been grousing about the "money that bought the Republicans primaries" for California Governor and Senator (Whitman & Fiorina) since my candidates lost to them, and then I read this column by Ann Coulter.
She makes a fair point - with factual examples of several deep-pocket candidates whose lavish spending did NOT net them the nomination. Maybe there is something more to the two of them. I'm not yet convinced, but I'm not quite as disgusted as I was when I woke up this morning.
