Yep...It's THAT Bad

Jan H. sent in this link:

The Truth About the Health Care Bills

It opens with:
Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

And pretty much goes down hill from there.

However, as scary as all of that it, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated. If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

Fix a drink. Read it. And send the link to everyone you know!

Computer Back in Service

Well, I might have been just a little optimistic about "computer time".

It took me all day Saturday to even get the Computer Operating System installed. I picked it up around noon, and was back at the Apple Store at 5:00 pm.

We did, ultimately, get it going, but it took me all day Sunday to finally get all my programs and files onto the new, clean disk.

While I'm very happy with the end result, it was more trouble than I expected. I guess that's the nature of computers....sigh.

Coming...reports on Sacramento.

Sacto and the Computer

Well, tomorrow is Sacramento.

We Pacifica people are thrilled that it is going to be 100˚F there.

We've got one care full...and I'm hoping that others will also decide to attend.

It will be hot...but it will be GOOD!

In other news: Be sure to watch Glenn Beck tonight and tomorrow on Fox.

I won't be in touch until Saturday. So everybody...stay cool...

(I'm picking up my computer Saturday morning...it's getting "retrofitted", and will be back in full time service in the AM.)

God Bless America,

WATCH GLENN BECK TODAY!

(2pm PDT & 11pm PDT on Fox News Channel)

Rush Limbaugh will be joining Glenn Beck for an exposé on the FCC.

Glenn has said this is the scariest thing he's dug up so far...that the Slobbering Marxist Media refuse to cover. I expect it will be the FCC plans to Silence Dissent...that final line in the sand that I have said will prove the true Fascism of this Administration, and the totalitarian Progressives who support it.

Be sure to watch. They need to be exposed. We need to know what they're up to—so we can plan our resistance appropriately.

Ignorance is not bliss....it leads to tyranny.

Who Is To Blame?

Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution of the United States of America lists the powers permitted to Congress. Have you read it lately?

There are 17 of them. And (perhaps surprisingly to some) none relates to Health Care, or Education, or endowing the Arts, or Prescription Drugs...

The Constitution is very specific. It tells Congress what particular powers it has, and then it very emphatically says that any powers not listed are NOT Congress'...but belong to the States and to The People.

It's not a difficult concept. And it's not complicated language. It's perfectly clear for any reader of English.

How then did we end up with an Imperial State that interferes in every facet of our lives, and is seeking ever more control until it will literally dictate our thoughts and behavior from birth to death?

Who can we point to? Who are the monsters responsible? Who's fault is it that our government is totally out-of-control?

Who took the government 'of the people, by the people and for the people' that our Founders bequeathed us and transformed it into a government by ambitious, greedy, self-serving, dictatorial Elites?

Who let these vipers take over our once great citizens' government? Who allowed this perversion of our Founders' vision, principles and greatest achievement?

Have you guessed yet? Are you blushing?

"The Price of Liberty is Eternal Vigilance."

I think it's safe to say we have not been vigilant in making sure the government obeys the Constitution. If the Congress won't, and the President won't, and the Supreme Court won't, what can be done?

We have forgotten that WE are the Sovereign from which all governing power comes. The Congress, The President and even the Supreme Court must answer to us...not the other way around. But we have fallen asleep...and allowed ourselves to become Subjects rather than Citizens.

It is our shame, and our fault. We are the malfeasant ones. We are to blame.

We have forgotten that the power of the government is merely loaned to it by us. And we have allowed an ambitious, greedy, self-righteous, power-hungry few to convince us that government is our master, not our servant.

It is time that We The People awaken, and remember who we are, and take our Power and our Country back!

I find it interesting that our little blog could come so quickly to the attention of the Congressman's Communications Director....

If you click his name attached the comment, it does go to Speier's website...I'm not sure if that really means anything....

Member Submission!

This review of the Jackie Speier Town Hall meeting we went to on Saturday was submitted by Sandy and Mike, two great people we met there. Naturally, we hope to be seeing a lot more of them!

wtp

Hi friends, Sandy here,

We made our way out to Montara (no parking left at the school--had to park 3 blocks up the hill.  Area had no sidewalks or much street side parking.  She couldn't have picked a harder place to get to--but that was the point--don't be accessible!) to protest Rep. Speier and her support of single payer healthcare (Medicare for all).

A group between 200-300 came out (I bet they were surprised to see so many due to the day, time and location).  It was split 60/40.  60% was pro Obamacare and 40% was the voice of reason.

We brought our signs and I'm so glad we did, because people of "like minds" could find us and stand with us.  We shared emails and hopefully will get more organized as a group going forward.  We are Patriots of San Mateo County (wedapeeps!).  Hopefully, all of you will make the effort to come out and stand up for your liberties before they are gone.  Next outing Aug. 29th Burton Park, San Carlos, bring signs!

Thankfully, for some reason, those people that took to the microphone were "our side".  One man dressed in a nice suit spoke and challenged her thinking and said that the govt should fix social security and Medicare that is already in place--then we might believe that the govt could handle anything in this bill; one elderly man, a Vet of the Korean War challenged her taking away his rights--rights that he fought for, then a young junior in college spoke about the huge deficit that she will be paying for the rest of her life.  She also said "Are you aware that 90% of the people already have health care?"  Speier could not answer any of the questions.  All of them were wonderful and really upset the kool-aid drinkers.

There were a few news agencies there, mostly waiting for a riot to break out--in fact one young reporter and cameraman from L.A.'s Current TV came over to Mike and said "are you going to cause a ruckus?  yell and scream?"--Mike said "no, there's no need for that--everyone has the right to freedom of speech and assembly".  He seemed disappointed.  It was a peacefully assembly.  Except one black guy was walking around with a huge poster of Obama, with a tiny mustache--looking like Hitler.  He was passing out LaRouche literature (www.larouche.com).  The kool-aid drinkers were appalled to see a black man doing such a think and they said "you fool.  don't you know that we are trying to help your people?"--what a bunch of elitist!

Also, were you aware that the AFL-CIO called all of their members and left a phone message that all should show up and support Con. Speier and help to dispel the misinformation of the opponents to the bill.

Lots of people brought there kids since it was at an elementary school.  The kids were all having a blissful time on the play structures.

You'd Think They'd Have Learned By Now...

So I said to him, "Barack, I know Abe Lincoln, and you
ain't no Abe Lincoln."

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

Jackie Speier Townhall in Montara

Several of us went to Speier's "Townhall" today (Sunday, August)

I want to particularly thank Camele, Janey, Jim (sorry we didn't say good-bye!) Sean, Pete, Priscilla, Nunzio (forgive me if I missed anyone) who showed up to support our side.

Happily, we met several other great people who agreed with us, and have signed up with "We The People".

We arrived at about 10:30 for an 11:00 meeting (I was lucky enough to get one of the last parking places in the school parking lot.)

As we walked in, there were tables and other Jackie/Obama supporters signing up people and handing out pre-printed signs and stickers in support of government run health care.

There was a virtual sea of supporters...so much so that all the chairs in the school were used and still a LOT of people were left standing. Priscilla and I, who found seats, saw a few people in the back of the crowd, standing with one or two signs opposed, so so I dragged her to them, and ended up standing for the whole meeting. (Sorry, Priscilla).

I was surprised at the turnout until we talked to a man who said there was a huge organized union phone tree that sent out the word to come to the meeting...to make sure to drown out us opponents.

Though we were vastly outnumbered, I have to admit, several of the questioners were not exactly cheerleaders for Obamacare, and one or two were determinedly against it.

We stood for almost 2 hours, holding our signs, listening to the mostly vapid nonsense spewed by Speier who is clearly not conversant with the free market, basic economics or the Constitution.

Or the truth in several cases.

No surprise there, of course. But it's one thing to know it, and another to have to listen to it that long at one time!

(I did love her white jacket, though. Very chic. I want one.)

There were two interesting incidents that are worth sharing.

1) A black LeRouche supporter showed up, holding a big sign with that picture of Obama with a "Hitler" mustache. He came to the back of the group to stand among us until a couple of us sort of shooed him away. There were lots of cameras and that's just not something we need associated with us. He and his companion soon found a suitable place in the empty front of the building, at an abandoned "Jackie" table...and spent the meeting sitting alone out there with their silly sign.

2) A particularly nasty little-old-lady, who apparently decided it was her job to snottily scold us every time we reacted to a statement or question or commented in a way she didn't approve of, was finally told by one of us that we have the right to speak as we see fit.

There were two policemen standing very close by, and the white-haired harridan declared that'd she'd shut us up, and marched over to them to demand they tell us to stop talking.

They declined to do so.

She was not a happy camper.

And the degenerate language that came out of her prim little mouth after that...rather surprised us all. Of course, she never realized that she was more entertaining to us than otherwise. Her vitriol took its toll on her, leaving us quite unscathed.

Poor old thing.

The Lesson: Always retain a sense of humor, even while they're shooting at you. That kind of bitterness is so unattractive. Pinches you up even more than age does.

So...while we suffered for the cause —did I mention it was OUTSIDE in Montara...on the coast—in summer....COLD. We came away having made new friends, and a new appreciation of "Union Organizing", and a renewed commitment to beat them at their own game.

Power to "We The People"!

Can I Move There?

It's hard to imagine that Congressman Herger is really from California!

He's called ObamaCare a "threat to democracy".

Can I get an Amen??
Herger did not hold back on his opinion of the health care plan and the administration’s appointment of “czars” to head various departments and task forces. “Our democracy has never been threatened as much as it is today,” Herger said to a loud standing ovation.
Here's the whole story.

Horowitz on Alinsky

Letter from David Horowitz on Saul Alinsky. Timely since we're reading Rules for Radicals. Everyone has their copy...right?

wtp

Beck, Alinsky, Satan and Me
By:David Horowitz

Glenn Beck will be on vacation this week but when he returns on the 24th he has invited me to come to New York to talk to him on camera about Saul Alinsky, the strategy guru of the Obama era. For the Hillary-Soros generation of johnny-come-lately radicals and their ACORN footsoldiers Alinksy is their Sun-Tzu and hi's book Rules for Radicals is the field manual for their struggle. I thought while I'm refreshing my acquaintance with this destructive fellow and re-reading his text, I would share my thoughts with readers of the NewsrealBlog serially over the next week.

For this first post (which I am also posting here), let's just focus on the dedication of the book -- to Satan:

"Lest we forget, an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical." (Pause here for second. Now continue): "from all our legends, mythology, and history(and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins -- or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom -- Lucifer."

So Alinsky begins by telling readers what a radical is. He is not a reformer of the system but its would-be destroyer. This is something that conservatives have a very hard time understanding. Conservatives in my experience are all together too decent, too civilized to match up adequately, at least in the initital stages of the battle, with their adversaries. They are too prone to give them the benefit of the doubt. Radicals can't really want to destroy a society that is democratic and liberal and has brought wealth and prosperity to so many. Oh yes they can. That is in fact the essence of what it means to be a radical -- to be willing to destroy the values, structures and institutions that sustain the society we live in. Marx himself famously cited Alinsky's first rebel (using another of his names -- Mephistopheles): "Everything that exists deserves to perish."

This is why ACORN activists for example have such contempt for the election process, why they are so willing to commit fraud. Because just as Lucifer didn't believe in God's kingdom, so the radicals who run ACORN don't believe in the democratic system. To them it's a fraud -- an instrument of the ruling class, or as Alinsky prefers to call it, the Haves. If the electoral system doesn't serve all of us, but is only an instrument of the Haves then election fraud is justified, is a means of creating a system that serves the Have-Nots -- social justice. Until conservatives begin to understand exactly how dishonest radicals are -- dishonest in the their core -- it is going to be very hard to defend the system that is under attack. For radicals the noble end -- creating a new heaven on earth -- justifies any means. And if one actually believed it was possible to create heaven on earth who would not willingly destroy any system hitherto created by human beings?

The many names of Satan by the way are also a model for radicals who camouflage their agendas by calling themselves Communists, socialists, new leftists, liberals and most consistently progressives. My parents who were card-carrying Communists and their friends never referred to themselves as Communists but always as "progressives." The Progressive Party which was run by the Communist Party and split off from the Democrats in 1948 (because Harry Truman opposed Stalin), rejoined the Democrats in the McGovern campaign of 1972 and with the ascension of Barack Obama has become the Democratic Party.

Alinsky's tribute to Satan as the first radical and model of radicals to come should cause us to reflect on how Satan tempted Adam and Eve to destroy their paradise. If you rebel and violate the law that has been laid down for you, "You shall be as gods" the serpent told them. You think Rahm Emmanuel was listening?

Oh, and let's not forget this -- the kingdom that the first radical "won" was hell.

Why We Are Resisting; Why We Are Angry

Robert sent me this some time ago, but somehow I overlooked posting it. It's by Victor Davis Hanson, entitled Praire-Fire Anger

Apprehensive voters dread turning their hard-won and paid-for private health care plans into something like the emergency room on Saturday night, where the care reflects the chaos. The new anti-Obamians do not want industry run like the Department of Motor Vehicles, where most time and money are invested mostly in those who do not follow the rules like registering their cars or getting a driver’s license. And it is not just the waste, inefficiency, and lack of accountability inherent in government-run enterprises that bother the growing cadre of angry voters.

There is, again, a mounting anxiety that the current federal expansion is politically-driven in rather radical ways—an effort to create a permanent new constituency of millions who either receive expanded federal largess or are gleefully employed in doling it out. The zealotry of expansive bureaucracy and dependency instills fears, rational or not, of a radicalized huge federal work force, a sort of national version of Acorn to the nth degree that in pack-like fashion is mobilized to target potential naysayers.

Be sure and read the whole thing.

Understanding the Spectrum

A good article by Andrew McCarthy (hat tip/Marnie)

A key truth articulated is:
"Nazi Germany is a useful historical example of socialism run amok."
The Marxists pretend that Nazis were "Right Wingers". But nothing could be further from the truth. The Stalin/Hitler antagonism was fraternal infighting, not opposites at war.

The LEFT extreme of the political spectrum represents Total Government: Totalitarianism, which includes both Communism and Fascism as well as Islamic Jihadist World Domination fantasies, Oligarchies, Czars, Emperors, etc.

The RIGHT extreme of the political spectrum represents No Government, or anarchy. The further Right you are, the less government you want.

"Right Wing Nazi" is an oxymoron.

Bab's and the Giant Protest

We just got back from the San Jose protest at Babs Boxer's book signing. I only have one complaint. IT. WAS. TOO. HOT. I suppose it's because I live in Pacifica, but I'm just not good with 85 degree weather. It was a beautiful day, but the sun was unrelenting to my coastal sensibilities.

Otherwise, it was great fun. Even with a couple Liberals who would insist on engaging me. Let's see. I was called a liar, and a Rush robot. One guy said that I just listen to Rush and do whatever he says instead of thinking for myself. His women said that Rush Limbaugh trades on fear and hate. I suggested that if she actually listened to him she'd know that wasn't true. Naturally, she claimed she does.

Why do they do that when it's so clearly a lie?

Her man announced that the Constitution was written over 200 year ago, for agrarian times and didn't apply to our current modern culture. Seriously. HE. SAID. THAT.

I should have countered with, "Do you mean that individual liberty is an obsolete idea?", but he was beyond talking to at that point, and did I mention I was over-heated...?

Another Liberal guy sited Alexander Hamilton as proof that the "Founding Fathers" didn't consider government as the necessary-evil-enemy-of-the-people that they themselves made clear.

Sigh.

When I told him I'd rather have freedom than even "good" health care if it was run by the State....he just looked at me.

It's like "freedom" is a word in a foreign language that they don't understand.

Same guy insisted that Europe has great health care and that everybody there loves it. Faced with three different groups of people who said they had friends, especially in Britain, that hated it, he wasn't fazed at all. He's got the talking points down, and he's sticking to them. Facts be damned.

Here's more or less how his argument ran:

1) Liberal: "The health care system is horribly broken. We need to reform it."

2) Me:" I agreed that health care needs to be reformed, but not by turning it over to the State."

4) Liberal: "The STATE already runs over half of our health care, so what's the problem?"

5) Me: "I thought you said the system was horribly broken? If the STATE is running over half of it and it's horribly broken, why do you want to let them run MORE of it?"

6) Liberal: "Well, they probably run less than half, actually."

I don't think they think their arguments through very well.

But we far outnumbered them in any case, I heard one of the organizers estimate that a thousand people showed up! So while we didn't invade Barnes & Noble, or seek to confront Babs, it's not possible that she didn't know we were there, and that's all that matters.

We did stick around until she left...there was a town crier going up and down the sidewalk giving us updates. And a big crowd gathered at the driveway when she was driven out...

All was peaceful and friendly and fun. Lot's of horn honking and waves and thumbs-up of approval from cars passing on the big street we lined.

Another day, another protest.

God, I rather be home playing with my cats, blogging and staying cool under the lovely overcast skies of my coastal town...

But, hey, the Republic is at stake, and considering that...and what the Founders risked to create this amazing, God-blessed, divinely inspired miracle called "America", and what so many more have fought and died to preserve and protect, it's the least we can do, right?

Let's all get out there and give them hell! And TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!

545 vs 300,000,000

Kristin and Jane sent this in. I've not check to see if Charley Reese is even a real person...'cause it doesn't matter. This is true, no matter who said it!

545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason.. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red ..

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Upcoming Events (Pelosi) (Boxer)

I'm operating from an off-site computer. I'm still cut off from the world by virtue of my computer being "in the shop". Turns out I need a new hard disk...and they had to order the part. They assure me I will have it back this week...

Meanwhile:

We are planning to go to the San Francisco Protest this Friday. I decided to take a vacation day from work after all and be there.

A few of us are leaving my house at 1:30 to take BART from Colma. If anyone would like to meet up along the way, email wedapeeps@gmail.com so we can arrange it.

Don't forget the Barbara Boxer Book Signing on Saturday.

CHECK THE "CALENDAR OF EVENTS"  ---------------------->
IN THE GRAY SQUARE UNDER THE GRAPHIC.  Click on the links for for more information.

NOTE:  We will not be able to cart all the signs we made to SF on BART...but we will bring them to Saturday's event so you'll be able to use them if you don't have one of your own.

I urge everyone to show up. We have to let "ma'am" Boxer know how we feel.

See you there.

Mindless Reaction

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm highly amused and somewhat bemused by the boneheaded politicians calling regular American folks Nazis and astroturf supported rent-a-mobs,  rude, unruly, and unpatriotic.

These people have lost their minds.

For a while I couldn't figure out how they could be so clueless, so politically tone-deaf, as to excoriate and insult the very people they need to agree with them to pass ObamaCare, and to vote for them in the next election.

Then suddenly I realized what was happening.

The Marxist Left has developed the knee-jerk tactic of demonizing and assassinating the character of anyone who disagrees with them. Obvious examples are Bush, Rush, Sarah, Glenn Beck, Clinton's women, Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas...but they do it to everyone they hate, without thought...without honor...without hesitation...

...and it often works. Mostly because they have the Slobbering Media on their side and in their pocket.

What we're seeing is the Marxist Left  (and their Media drones) respond as usual!

When regular American People disagreed with them...they automatically switched into demonization/character assassination mode. And they began to demonize regular American People.

It's not really that surprising. IT'S WHAT THEY DO.

What is surprising is that there is not a intellect among them—or their whores in the Media— bright enough to figure out that this is a stupid, self-defeating tactic to use against American Public itself...the citizens...the constituents...the voters!

What's funny is watching them cluelessly commit political suicide with what to them is a trusty old weapon that has unexpectedly blown up in their faces.

And they still haven't seemed to notice that rather than working as usual, even with the collaboration of their fellow travelers, the Media propagandists, they are igniting a storm that has exploded into something they don't understand, can't process, and is utterly beyond their control.

And they're scattering like scared rats...and lashing out like cornered ones.

When abuse, character assassination and demonization are the only weapons in your political arsenal, eventually you will face the opponent upon whom such tawdry, petty slings and arrows simply don't work.

I think they might be finding that out too late. Don't expect them to learn anything from it, however.

But it is an entertaining show.

Organizing: A Dirty Word?

The new, and pretty damned ironic negative buzz word among the Liberal media, the White House and the Democrat Party appears to be "organized".
...opposition to ObamaCare,...“appears to be orchestrated” and “organized”

Hey, I thought they LIKED community organizing?

wtp

Well...this is SORTA funny...

wtp

hat tip/Pete

And They Call it "The News"...

News Busters has a good article about the "News Media" and the way they're portraying us ObamaCare Protesters.
ABC framed its Tuesday night story, on citizens using town hall forums held by Members of Congress to express opposition to ObamaCare, around undermining their credibility by asserting the reaction “appears to be orchestrated” and “organized” and thus is forcing the victimized “White House to push back” by “fighting Internet fire with fire.”

Here's my question. Who are they reporting this TO?

1) The mindless, Obama-Zombies who're already on board?

2) Each other, so they feel better about lying?

3) Or The People—who are the very ones they're lying about...?

I don't think they've thought this through very well.

Or is it just me?

APOLOGETICS: "Throw the Bums Out"

We had a great meeting Thursday evening, but there is one point that I feel did not get resolved satisfactorily. And I’d like to take this opportunity to explain it, because it appears to be somewhat unclear in definition and purpose and it caused concern to some of our members: The third point in the 3-Point Plan…"Throw The Bums Out!”

First let me make it clear that it is a Tactic, not a Goal.

“Throw The Bums Out” is [my name for] a strategy developed by a New England 9-12 Project. The idea is a simple one: Organize a WHOLE LOT of people to vote against the incumbent in every election.

It's the epitome of K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Stupid):

You don’t have to know all the arguments for and against every candidate. You don’t have to keep up with the details of all the issues. On election day, you just vote against the incumbent.

And the result—the cashiering out of a lot of the Resident Evil in Washington—will put the fear of God into all of them, including the victorious challengers who will have seen, by the very fact of their election, that the voters are in no mood to put up with any more nonsense: That the voters, once again, are in charge.

And then…we tell them what to do…and they’ll know that there are real consequences for not doing it.

It's a good thing.

In itself, as a stand-alone "goal", there is nothing to be gained merely by removing incumbents - particularly if their replacements are worse. But that's not what we're proposing—

"Throw The Bums Out" is a means to the goals of:

1) the Destruction of the Imperial State;
2) the Draining of the Washington Swamp,
3) the Restoration of our Republic & its Constitution
4) the Reclamation our Heritage and Liberty,
5) the Return our of Government to “We The People”.

You see, we don’t just have the wrong people, we’ve got the wrong SYSTEM!

Washington has become a pile of money, a gold-plated lifestyle, an insider’s dream-world of privilege, money, power, extravagance, influence, prerogatives, deference and entitlements. And it breeds arrogance, elitism, narcissism, corruption, greed, vanity, pride, paranoia, thuggery and outright evil.

The Golden Honey of Washington has become an irresistible lure for exactly the wrong sort of creature. This problem didn’t start with Obama, and it won’t end with his defeat. It did not start with the Democratic Congress, and it won’t end with a Republican majority. This president and this Congress are merely the logical result of our corrupted and broken political system.

And if we don’t change it—if we don’t Drain the Swamp—Marxist, Progressive, Big Government scum like them will continue to rise to the surface again and again.

Our Founders created our form of government on the idea of “citizen legislators” who would return to their homes, farms and businesses after a term in office, and have to live under the laws they passed. They did this intentionally to keep government from becoming exactly what it’s become: A bloated, fat, rich, out-of-touch, out-of control, aristocracy that seeks to rule rather than govern, and exempts itself from the onerous avalanche of taxes, regulations, restrictions and encroachments of liberty it forces on the rest of us.

And this scabrous aristocracy does not respect us. Nor does it fear us. Indeed, with every passing decade, it becomes bigger, stronger, more powerful, more intrusive, more coercive, more corrupt, more haughty, more exclusive, more intimidating, more arbitrary, more dangerous and more directly threatening.

Our protests and demands go unheeded as they work for their own selfish ends, and the enrichment of themselves and their friends—by the billions of dollars— and our expense.

Thomas Jefferson said, “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

It is time to make them FEAR us. It is time to regain control over our government. And one way to do that is the wholesale defeat of incumbents. It would sent a very powerful and clear message: "We The People are in charge!" And it would have a chastising effect on every elected official across the country.

Alternatively, using our energy and resources to get a few good people elected to the rotting corpse of a pernicious system won't make the stink go away. We’ve got to burn the whole damned pestilent carcass to ashes!

The long term answer is not more Republicans in office, or fewer Democrats. That's a cosmetic and temporary stop-gap—

We need a Paradigm Shift. We need to reverse the balance of power and of fear. We should have the power, and the government the fear!

And when that happens, we can proceed to Drain the Swamp.

We need to make government permanently unattractive to vipers, vampires, cannibals and leeches. We need it to attract a "better class" of person. We can begin by stripping all the perks, privileges, profit and power from the jobs.

Here's a quick and dirty list of some specifics we could work for:

Terms Limits
Deep Salary Cuts for all government workers & elected officials
Abolish government worker unions

The end of:
Golden parachute lifelong retirement benefits
Special health care
Gerrymandering
Lobbyist cash
Exemptions for Congress from the laws they pass
Earmarks
Pork barrel spending, etc.

Make passing bills they don’t read grounds for impeachment
Require a balanced budget
Require total transparency
Limit federal power to those enumerated in the Constitution

Restoration of the Founder’s requirement that State Legislatures appoint Senators
No cars, no drivers, no planes, no banks, no hairdressers, no restaurants, etc. paid by taxpayers
We must strip the Imperial State of all its grand trappings—and everything not specifically permitted to it by the Constitution

(We can refine/revise this list as seems appropriate)

When I say I want to take our country back, I’m not talking rhetorically, or metaphorically, I mean it literally. I want to return to our Founders’ ideals and our founding documents. And in today’s America, that is nothing short of revolutionary.

The question is, are we radical enough, revolutionary enough, serious enough, dedicated enough, outraged enough to see it through?

For those who offered the very reasonable & practical suggestions that we work to elect Republicans to office or “identify vulnerable Democrats” to defeat—with all due respect, there is already a large citizens' organization busy doing that. It’s called The Republican Party. That is their mission and their job.

It's not, however, mine; nor my vision for “We The People”.

Of course, that does not preclude any of us working for candidates we believe in. But “We The People” as an entity, will remain a non-partisan citizens' group not affiliated with any political party because neither of them represent us - ordinary, real Americans.

We have to stop participating in the old paradigm that the two corrupt parties have trapped us in: the useless, continual wrangling for power and influence by the elites of both sides, but never addressing, acknowledging, or changing the underlying disease.

It is the Power Elites of both Parties that are destroying out country. And it is the immense power and of the government they've built that makes such wrangling profitable and worthwhile—to the exclusion of consideration of what's good for the country—to all the "players" in Washington.

The rejection and marginalizing of real conservatives by the Beltway Republicans cannot be overstated, it cannot be overlooked, and it cannot be forgiven.

The "elite" Republicans' treatment of Sarah Palin is as clear a demonstration as is possible of their own sense of entitlement, their view of their own superiority, and their jealous rejection of sharing power with "The People".

They want this representative of real people...to just go away!

"We The People" stand firmly with the Founders in their belief that Government Is The Enemy of The People, and should be small, weak and under the control of the citizens. And it doesn't matter what letter it has after its name.

The Founders didn't include the Second Amendment so that we could hunt ducks! They intended to guarantee that the people would always be armed against the likelihood of tyrannical government.

Exactly as they feared, government, through the machinations of those who seek to use it for power, for riches, for influence, for ego-satisfaction, for immature idealism, for belief in false utopias, or because they think they know 'what's best', has become Leviathan. It has become the Imperial State.

If we are going to restore our Republic and our Rights for ourselves and our children, we must return to the vision, principles and values of our Founders of small government that is Of the People, By the People and For the People.

And we can only do that by dismantling the Imperial State, Draining the Washington Swamp and clearing out all the vipers that thrive there.

Of course, there are a few worthy Public Servants there and elsewhere struggling against the polluted current, and we appreciate them and thank them for their honor and effort. But against the combined strength, weight and power of the corrupt, their efforts are ultimately in vain.

Only the American People working in accord, speaking with one voice can Take Our Country Back. And that is the mission of "We The People". To cling to (learn, teach and share) our core American principles and values, to be true to the Founders' vision, to increase our numbers, to join with other groups, to grow the movement...

....to reclaim our nation and our heritage and become once again: The Land of the Free!

And So It Begins...

Obama warned us about his internal security force. Now we know who they are: ACORN and Union hooligans.

They are now appearing on the scene.

I don't think they quite understand the nature of the American People.

Do they think this will work?

Do they think this will intimidate us?

Do they think this will silence us?

Another horrid, self-destructive miscalculation by the Organizer in Chief and his posse.

Even if he had nothing to do with it, he has so identified himself with these people and their tactics that he will be tainted by their actions. And this will provoke more protests...not fewer, more disapproval, not success.

Barack Obama and his "Chicago Style Politics" is giving the sleeping giant, Middle America, a massive adrenalin injection.

This may be the height of sophistication in Chicago, but it's just amateurish raw thuggery in any other part of the country, and it's only going to hurry his demise.

A Doctor Speaks Out

Dennis B sent this in. It was written by a friend of his so he can vouch for the authenticity of the attribution. He also verifies that Stephen is a physician.

(I deleted his last name to preserve his privacy)

Senator Bayh,

As a practicing physician I have major concerns with the healthcare bill before Congress. I actually have read the bill and am shocked by the brazenness of the government's proposed involvement in the patient physician relationship. The very idea that the government will dictate and ration patient care is dangerous and certainly not helpful in designing a 20 healthcare system that works for all. Every physician I work with agrees that we need to fix our healthcare system, but the proposed bills currently making their way through congress will be a disaster if passed.

I ask you respectfully and as a patriotic American to look at the following troubling lines that I have read in the bill. You cannot possibly believe that these proposals are in the best interests of the country and our fellow citizens.

Furthermore, If you vote for a bill=2 0 tha t enforces socialized medicine on the country and destroys the doctor/patient relationship, I will do everything in my power to make sure you lose your job in the next election.

Boxer Book Signing - PROTEST!

Robert wrote it up...

Senator Barbara Boxer is having a book signing on Saturday, August 15th at 1:00pm at Barnes and Noble, 3600 Stevens Creek Boulevard, San Jose.

Wouldn't be wonderful if we had 1,000 protesters on the corner of Stevens Creek Boulevard near San Tomas Expressway with signs protesting the rationing of health care and the hints of euthanasia with ObamaCare?

We encourage people to start gathering around 12:30pm, and things will disburse no later than 2:30pm. There is no cost to be on the sidewalks of America, at least not yet.

We strongly recommend no one disturb customers of Barnes and Noble, or confront Senator Boxer. There will be security, and any confrontation would negatively reflect on the protest. However, placards with messages similar to what we displayed on July 4th would be very appropriate as we greet car passersby, and accept their "thumbs-up" gestures.

We are strongly discouraging anyone protesting inside the store.

I will definitely be going. Anyone interested, please leave a comment on this post with your city, so we can form carpools — I'll connect everyone up.

Thanks....it's our first "action". Let's make it good!

UPDATE Aug 8, 2009

The location of this meeting has been changed. Here is the alert from Bay Area Patriots:
Due to a scheduling conflict and permit issues, the Aug. 14th protest has been relocated to the Justin Herman Plaza (across from the Ferry Building). It will accommodate our larger crowd, provide greater visibility and easier transportation options for all (BART, Ferry, Muni, Parking). I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please spread the word about this change.
At the meeting tonight, Robert mentioned Chuck DeVore, who is running against Barbara Boxer...and is therefore everybody's favorite politician...here is one of his ads.

I found it at Bay Area Patriots, who has a Health Care Protest planned at Pelosi's office, on Friday, August 14, between 1-5 pm. Anyone who wants to go can leave comments on this post, and organize a group to go together. (I can't make it because of my job.)

I'm going to check them out, and add our group/blog to their "Local Bay Area Links" blogroll, and hopefully reach out to a few more people that way!

Community Organizers - The Enemy On The March

Here's the text of a comment at Breitbart.tv, quoting a letter from Obama to his "minions".

I don't have confirmation that the entire text is factual, but it is a fact that the first paragraph can be found at...er...My.BarackObama.com

(Seriously, is there no end of narcissism with this guy??)

from President Barack Obama info@barackobama.com
reply-to info@barackobama.com

subject This is the moment
mailed-by bounce.bluestatedigital.com

This is the moment our movement was built for.

For one month, the fight for health insurance reform leaves the backrooms of Washington, D.C., and returns to communities across America. Throughout August, members of Congress are back home, where the hands they shake and the voices they hear will not belong to lobbyists, but to people like you.

Home is where we’re strongest. We didn’t win last year’s election together at a committee hearing in D.C. We won it on the doorsteps and the phone lines, at the softball games and the town meetings, and in every part of this great country where people gather to talk about what matters most. And if you’re willing to step up once again, that’s exactly where we’re going to win this historic campaign for the guaranteed, affordable health insurance that every American deserves.

There are those who profit from the status quo, or see this debate as a political game, and they will stop at nothing to block reform. They are filling the airwaves and the internet with outrageous falsehoods to scare people into opposing change. And some people, not surprisingly, are getting pretty nervous. So we’ve got to get out there, fight lies with truth, and set the record straight.

That’s why Organizing for America is putting together thousands of events this month where you can reach out to neighbors, show your support, and make certain your members of Congress know that you’re counting on them to act.

But these canvasses, town halls, and gatherings only make a difference if you turn up to knock on doors, share your views, and show your support. So here’s what I need from you:

Can you commit to join at least one event in your community this month?

In politics, there’s a rule that says when you ask people to get involved, always tell them it’ll be easy. Well, let’s be honest here: Passing comprehensive health insurance reform will not be easy. Every President since Harry Truman has talked about it, and the most powerful and experienced lobbyists in Washington stand in the way.

But every day we don’t act, Americans watch their premiums rise three times faster than wages, small businesses and families are pushed towards bankruptcy, and 14,000 people lose their coverage entirely. The cost of inaction is simply too much for the people of this nation to bear.

So yes, fixing this crisis will not be easy. Our opponents will attack us every day for daring to try. It will require time, and hard work, and there will be days when we don’t know if we have anything more to give. But there comes a moment when we all have to choose between doing what’s easy, and doing what’s right.

This is one of those times. And moments like this are what this movement was built for. So, are you ready?

Please commit now to taking at least one action in your community this month to build support for health insurance reform:

http://my.barackobama.com/CommitAugust

Let’s seize this moment and win this historic victory for our economy, our health and our families.

Thank you,

President Barack Obama

Whether or not this is the exact text of an email sent out in Bama's name, the approach, the tone, the Community Organizing agenda is accurate...

This is what we are up against. And we have to organize equally well to combat it!

This is What Tyranny Looks Like

Shumer and his ilk are traitors to the Constitution, and to the government of, by and for the people. He, Obama and their crew, will do whatever is necessary to force ObamaCare down the throats of American Citizens whether we want it or not.

When did they become our rulers instead of our servants? How did we let this happen?

And what are we going to do about it?

wtp

Birthers...

I thought this controversy would die of its own weight—it seemed so unlikely. But apparently it is not going away anytime soon. Who knew?

wtp

YOU HAVE GOT TO WATCH THIS...

...it is inspirational. Watch the Washington vermin squirm, and watch him try to control his temper because he cannot control the situation. See his dismissive little sneer ...and watch his constituentss eat him for lunch:

And, listen to the demonstrators outside chanting loud enough to be heard inside...

This is what I want us to be when we grow up!

Here's more "crowd response video" for the snake, SSSSSSSpector.

And, in Texas, they weren't even THAT nice...I think Doggett's lucky this crowd didn't have tar or feathers.

Warms the very cockles of my little heart.

The Truth

Jan sent in this video. You should watch it.

ACTION:

Let's get on the phone and barrage Jackie Speier's office with complaints that she is not having a real townhall meeting...that she is hiding behind a "producer" and cherry-picking "phone screener" rather than actually listening to what here constituents have to say about Obamacare.

Her Telephone Townhall Meeting is next Tuesday night. Let's burn up the phones and faxes.

The Vile Pelosi Has a Plan

Pelosi has a strategy. Just so you know.

Let's make sure they don't get away with it.

The House Democrat leadership on Friday sent a memo to their membership asking them to hold town hall meetings on health care in their districts in August. Showing just how out of touch Democrat leaders are with not only their membership but their constituents, those Democrats holding town halls with Democrat talkers on health care are getting booed off of the stage.

Hmmm...this might explain Jackie Speier's  cowardly "telephone" townhall meeting, eh?

We The People Speak Out

Kerry shares her letter to The Speaker:

Ms. Pelosi,

Would you please stop and consider all of your fellow American Citizens before forcing us to accept another GOVERNMENT Run program. My husband and I are completely satisfied with the health care that we currently have.

Wouldn't it be better to tell all of your constituents that the reason you are pushing this plan is because as usual the Government has spent the Medicare/Medicaid $'s unwisely and now we are expected to pick up the slack. I would prefer it if all of you who supposedly represent the American Citizens would finally do just that.

When Mr. Obama was elected he promised to (1) show transparency and (2) eliminate earmarks, all of which I have yet to see. In fact there has been a noticeable increase in all of these.

If I were in control of this Government I would push for privatizing Health Care and not Government run waste. I think that this country definitely needs Health Care overhauling - but not at the expense of all of us and not under Government control.

If an employee is not producing well for a company, the employer has a right to release or (fire) them. Keep in mind that you work as Speaker of the House for all American citizens as stated in the Constitution and by your actions in the past several months you would be fired.

Respectfully,

Jackie the Coward

Well, Jackie Speier will be holding a town meeting to talk about Healthcare.

Don't get too excited. She's going to do it on the phone. This showed up on her website:

No people, no face-to-face, no open questions. No crowd of unhappy people that she cannot ignore!

She will have total control of who asks questions, and the rest of us cannot even make our presence known. We get to just listen. We're supposed to be satisfied being treated like passive sheep.

I'm not going to bother listening.

However, I am going to complain LOUDLY to her office that this sort of duck and cover is unacceptable. And that's all she's doing. Totally controlling the conversation, and avoiding We The People.

Let her know what you think.

Here's her phone number and address:
