Let's hope he's being just a little overly optimistic about this...

But he goes on...

And so the Whitewash begins....

"The Worst Scientific Scandal of our Generation!"

In the Telegraph, by Christopher Booker

Our hopelessly compromised scientific establishment cannot be allowed to get away with the Climategate whitewash

The reason why even the Guardian's George Monbiot has expressed total shock and dismay at the picture revealed by the documents is that their authors are not just any old bunch of academics. Their importance cannot be overestimated, What we are looking at here is the small group of scientists who have for years been more influential in driving the worldwide alarm over global warming than any others, not least through the role they play at the heart of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Assemblyman Jerry Hill host's a coffee break

Rob Heagy and I met with our California State Assemblyman on Tuesday, November 24th at 7:30 in the morning.  The following are my thoughts on this meeting.

My initial sense was that the people who spoke first were much like the common folk, during the dark ages.  the Lord of the Manor would hold court and allow the people to bring grievances and he would rule on them.  This is not to indicate that Jerry saw himself this way, just that the first two citizens had complaints about the department of motor vehicles and asked Jerry to intercede on their behalf.

The question I posed to Jerry was: "What prompted you to vote in favor of recognizing Harvey Milk Day in public schools?"  Jerry's initial response, was to advise there was no financial impact to this bill.  There was no disagreement on this point.  My concern was the children being exposed to the Gay/Bi-sexual/Lesbian/Trans-gender agenda before they had an opportunity to understand their own sexuality.

Jerry stated that he believed that your sexual proclivity was not a choice but determined by genetics.  While this issue could be debated, it is not germain to the discussion of introducing sexual topics to children before they have reached an appropriate level of maturity.  Jerry conceded that Harvey Milk's only accomplishment was that he was the first openly gay politician to win a high profile election.

Next May 22, every K through 12, public school is required to recognize Harvey Milk Day.  Which can only be accomplished by recognizing his sexual persuasion and then explaining it to the children.

There was significant discussion on issues that Jerry defined as Federal laws and beyond his ability to effect changes.  One of the participants brought up the subject of "Sanctuary Cities", specifically San Francisco and Redwood City.  Jerry again suggested that immigration was a federal issue.  Rob said that the state could choose to defund the cities which were not abiding by the law.  Rob further explained that part of the San Francisco transgression was the reluctance to impound unregistered vehicles for illegal aliens.  This is contrary to state law and was directly within the responsibility of the Assembly.  Jerry appreciated Rob's information but had no proposed solution.

I believe Jerry is doing his best.  He believes in the positions he holds.  His positions are classically liberal and condescending.  He wants government to take care of us.  I would like to see Jerry exercise his talents in the private sector.

Time Again to Send Christmas Cards to the ACLU

Yes, Christmas cards. Don't forget to add the ACLU to your list.

Since they're so obsessed with Christmas...and all.

Don't be mean. Just send a regular Christmas Card wishing them a Merry Christmas!

Here's the address:

ACLU
125 Broad Street
18th Floor
New York , NY 10004

The idea of the originators of this event is that two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 44 cents and make a statement!

I like it. It's a lovely grassroots campaign.

Pass this on to your email lists. Let's get everyone we know to wish the ACLU a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

ACTION ALERT - Energy

November 25, 2009

SUMMARY

The EPA has proposed that it can regulate greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.  The comment period for its regulation of greenhouse emissions of cars and light trucks ends this Friday and we need to let them know what we think of this power grab.  Below is (1) a sample letter that you can e-mail directly to the EPA at a-and-r-Docket@epa.gov, (2) information on other ways to submit, and (3) links to further information on this issue.

1. SAMPLE EMAIL/FAX
Attn: Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OAR-2009-0472

RE: Proposed Rulemaking to Establish Light-Duty Vehicle Greenhouse Gas Emission Standards and Corporate Average Fuel Economy Standards

I value the safety of my family and your proposed regulations would endanger them because it would effectively mandate that vehicles be less safe.

Also, with unemployment over 10%, this is no time to create new, costly, and unnecessary regulations.

Over 30,000 American scientists are skeptical of UN IPCC's CO2 alarmism (see petitionproject.org) that is the basis for your proposed regulations.  The recently released East Anglia e-mails confirm that scientists are right to be skeptical.

Sincerely,
(your name and address)

2. HOW TO SUBMIT
You can submit your comments by e-mail to a-and-r-Docket@epa.gov, by fax to (202) 566-1741, or by snail mail to:

U.S. Oil Reserves

Oil Reserves

About 6 months ago I was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. This is out of context, but this is the actual question as asked. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer, how much oil does the U.S. have in the ground." Forbes did not miss a beat, he said,
"more than all the middle East put together."
Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April ('08) that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since '95) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota ; western South Dakota ; and extreme eastern Montana .... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.

'When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.' says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst.

'This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years' reports, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' And it stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada ..... For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight...!

2... And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from TWO YEARS AGO!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World!

Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this mother load of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this?

Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil!

Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, leading researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to be. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention/ire up yet? Hope so!

This is all true. Follow this link. It will blow your mind.

We Were Warned...

Check this out:

King James Bible, Proverbs 24:21-22

"My son, fear thou the Lord and the king; and meddle not with them that are given to change: For their calamity shall rise suddenly and who knoweth the ruin of them both?"

The translation in the Living Bible is this:

"My son, watch your step before the Lord and the King, and don't associate with radicals. For you will go down with them to sudden disaster, and who knows where it will all end."

I'm just sayin'

The Deception of Perception

Chapter II Divide & Conquer

As we have discussed a Republic is based on the Rule of Law and not the Rule of the Mob. Our elected representatives have divided up our states and our country into little kingdoms. Yes the Republicans and Democrats in concert have divided our country into their kingdoms. Let us examine the political landscape. Our country is a Union of 50 States and Commonwealths and within these we are then divided into counties and parishes. Now I realize that there are cities and towns but the states and counties are the sovereign governing powers. This would be good if we allowed the states and counties to govern as they were established to do.

Let us examine our states and commonwealths and their legitimate functions. The United States Constitution guarantees that each state will have a Republican form of government. This was to insure that the mobs or masses would not rule; amazingly a Republican form of government guarantees rights even to the smallest of minorities. This Republican/Democracy that has been created by the two major political parties (Democrats & Republicans) only favors the political parties/bosses. It effectively discourages and diminishes the effectiveness of the people and any 3rd party politicians from attaining any real power. Each state is divided into counties and within the county you have a Board of Supervisors responsible for the local affairs.

The Problem

It seems to me we face three categories of threat in our country today. From the same enemy: the White House and the Democrat Congress:

(1) Liberty collapse through tyranny of an Imperial State (progressivism)

(2) Cultural Collapse through rampant immigration, multiculturalism and "diversity".

(3) Economic collapse through totally irresponsibly fiscal policies.

I just don't know how to counter them all.

Focusing on the individual policies, programs, votes, bills feels like an unending and losing strategy. It's playing defense all the time. Calling, faxing, demonstrating...

"Hold em back, hold em back, waaaay back"

We need a offensive (no pun intended) strategy...we need to take it to these bastards. And at the same time, set up a better system for ourselves...so when it all goes to hell, WE have something to fall back on...a foundation from which to regroup and "refound" the Republic.

Well, I suppose stating the problem is a good start.

You Have GOT to be Kidding!

You are NOT going to believe this.  This is the sort of delusional thing that happens in Insane Asylums.

Read what Resident Obama actually had the nerve to say...out loud:

President Barack Obama gave his sternest warning yet about the need to contain rising U.S. deficits, saying on Wednesday that if government debt were to pile up too much, it could lead to a double-dip recession.

One can't help but wonder TO WHOM he gave this "stern warning".

One can only imagine he was shaving at the time.

Cool Idea...

Please take a few brief moments to support this program sponsored by XEROX. You can send a THANK YOU to our troops for free:

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOL

If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them.

This takes just a few seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do. We can never say enough thank you's.

Thanks for taking to time to support our military!

The Truth - By Whatever Means Necessary

This is important, not because of who said it (which is not verified), but because it is the truth:

Confessions of an ObamaCare Backer

The typical argument for ObamaCare that it will offer better medical care for everyone and cost less to do it, but occasionally a supporter lets the mask slip and reveals the real political motivation. So let’s give credit to John Cassidy, part of the left-wing stable at the New Yorker, who wrote last week on its Web Site that “It’s important to be clear about what the reform amounts to.””

Mr. Cassidy is more honest than the politicians whose dishonesty he supports. “The U.S. government is making a costly and open-ended commitment,” he writes. “let’s not pretend that it isn’t a big deal, or that it will be self-financing, or that it will work out as planned. It won’t. What is really unfolding, I suspect, is the scenario that many conservatives feared. The OBAMA Administration is creating a NEW ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM, which once established, will be virtually impossible to rescind.”

Why are they doing it? Because, according to Mr. Cassidy, ObamaCare serves the twin goals of “making the United States a more equitable country” and furthering the Democrats’ “Political Calculus.” In other words, the purpose is to further redistribute income by putting health care further under government control, and in the process MAKING THE MIDDLE CLASS MORE DEPENDANT ON GOVERNMENT. Democrats in office will the ones who benefit over the long run.

This explains why Nancy Pelosi is willing to risk the seats of so many Blue Dog Democrats by forcing such an unpopular Bill through congress on a narrow, partisan vote: “putting on my amateur historian’s cap, I might even claim that some subterfuge is historically necessary to get great reforms enacted.

NO WONDER so many AMERICANS are upset. They KNOW that they are being LIED to about OBAMACARE, and they KNOW they are going to be stuck with the bill.
And this is why we have to defeat this...or create a tsunami of Republican victories in 2010 to repeal it INSTANTLY!

Today's Christmas Poem

Twas the month before Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
* At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,
not Happy Holiday !*

Please,  join together and
wish everyone you meet during the
holidays a

Change the Channel!

Anyone who wants to do something to get the truth out and help save our Country:

Request that all the places where there is a T V on,  "could you please change the channel to FOX news".

When you see any network station,  just ask politely,  "please put on FOX news 360".

Any waiting room.  ER, Doctor office, Dentist office, Corp. office, Health Club, Lunch Room, Real Estate Office, etc., etc., etc..........
Make up your own list and pass it on.

It's just so frustrating that the real news is not getting out to many, many, people in our country.

Who knows, it might help.

Obviously he knows not to do this. The last time he did, there was a huge brouhaha, during which his administration and apologists protested that he "did not bow" to the Saudi Prince.

So it's not possible he is unaware that this is totally against American protocol...he very clearly has consciously CHOSEN to do this.

The question is, what in the world does it mean?

What the hell is this man-child DOING??

The "Sick-In"

Interesting if Unlikely...

Owens May Have to Be Removed

Northern NY News
Written by Nathan Barker
Thursday, 12 November 2009 11:29

Doug Hoffman..Conservative

GOUVERNEUR, NY - Despite the fact that Bill Owens has already been sworn-in and has voted on crucial legislation in the House of Representatives, he may not have actually won the NY-23 Congressional Special Election.
Several errors were made during the initial vote counts. Over 2,000 votes for contender Doug Hoffman were not counted in the preliminary results, narrowing the current vote gap to less than 3,000 votes between Democrat Bill Owens and Conservative Doug Hoffman.

The errors were discovered during the standard vote recanvas that has been underway since November 4th. The largest error occurred in Oswego County where the vote recanvas found a discrepancy of more than 1,200 votes in Doug Hoffman's favor. Another error, in Jefferson County contributed an additional 700 votes in Hoffman's favor during the recount.

The election was close enough even on election night that the New York State Board of Elections was unable to present a "clear decision" in the race according to John Conklin, Communications Director for the department. He said that the Board sent a letter to the Clerk of the House of Representatives in Washington indicating that they could not yet determine a winner and could therefore not certify the election until after the recanvas and absentee ballot count. Those final numbers will not be available until at least mid-December.

Nancy Pelosi was only able to legally swear-in Bill Owens because Doug Hoffman had conceded the election, indicating that he did not contest the initial, and now shown erroneous, results, something he may not have done if he had been aware of how close the election was.

Mr. Hoffman told the Gouverneur Times that he felt at the time that he "was being a good sport" in doing so. With 93% of the polls in and counted and a margin of over 5,000 votes in favor of Owens, he felt he had lost the election. He now says that "while hindsight is 20/20, if I had known it was that close, I probably would have waited."

Bill Owens was sworn in 2 days later and proceeded to vote in favor of Pelosi's health care bill the following day. While Mr. Hoffman feels that deliberately contesting the results of the election to prevent Owens' deciding vote in the Health Care bill would "not have been very sportsmanlike," and that he, personally, would not like to see a politician manipulate events in that manner, he also indicated that the good of the American people and the citizens of the 23rd district would have weighed in on that decision as well.

As it stands now, Bill Owens may be in Washington and voting the Pelosi Party line but when the vote is certified he may be ousted. The state Board of Elections indicated that "...all ballots will be counted, and if the result changes, Owens will have to be removed." Concession speech or not, if the voters in the 23rd District elected Doug Hoffman and not Bill Owens, then Hoffman will be the Representative.

There are currently over 10,000 uncounted absentee ballots, many of which were in the military where a strongly conservative bias exists. Given the narrow margin of Owens' lead at this time, it's entirely possible that this race could still swing for Hoffman.

-------------------------------------------------------

Note:

Would such a replacement have any impact on the Health Care vote? Sure would be fun to watch Nancy's head explode if Hoffman actually got seated.

Clever Truth?

The best argument against 'PUBLIC OPTION' is just two words:
'PUBLIC HOUSING'
Everybody hates Public Housing. And nobody wants to live near it, let alone in it.

Tie the two together at every opportunity. Especially to Liberals and ØbamaZømbies:

"The Public Option is to medicine what Public Housing is to homes."

"When the government runs housing, you get PUBLIC HOUSING;
when the government runs health care, you get the PUBLIC OPTION"

Couple the two religiously, and it can't help taint the "public option".

The Cowardice of Hollywood's "2012"

Patricia writes:

I, for one, am not going to the new movie “2012” because of Roland Emmerich’s (the director) cowardice in not wanting to upset Muslims by not destroying Islam’s most holy site, while freely demolishing Christianity’s holiest sites. Here is a quote from an article about the director’s attitude about making this movie from Yahoo’s Movie Talk dated November 3, 2009:

”For "2012," Emmerich set his sites on destroying the some biggest landmarks around the world, from Rome to Rio. But there's one place that Emmerich wanted to demolish but didn't: the Kaaba, the cube-shaped structure located in the center of Mecca. It's the focus of prayers and the site of the Hajj, the biggest, most important pilgrimage in Islam.

"Well, I wanted to do that, I have to admit," the filmmaker told scifiwire.com. "But my co-writer Harald [Kloser] said, 'I will not have a fatwa on my head because of a movie.' And he was right."

Emmerich went on: "We have to all, in the western world, think about this. You can actually let Christian symbols fall apart, but if you would do this with [an] Arab symbol, you would have ... a fatwa, and that sounds a little bit like what the state of this world is. So it's just something which I kind of didn't [think] was [an] important element, anyway, in the film, so I kind of left it out."[*]

(Author’s note: This attitude of submission and cowardice is the perfect way to perpetuate the problem and embolden and encourage radical Islam. Showing respect to Islam while showing no respect to Christianity, Judaism and other religions is going to be the West’s downfall, if not stopped.)

[wtp note: *The cowardice is palpable. At least Hollywood is no longer trying to pretend Real Men live there.]

ore on David Hamilton - Gun Owners of America

Obama Pushing a "Radical's Radical" to the Federal Bench

-- Vote could come as early as Monday --

Thursday, November 12, 2009

He has been called "extreme" by some.  But to others, he's beyond extreme... he's a "Radical's Radical."
Whatever he is, he could become President Obama's next choice for the federal judiciary.

This radical is Judge David Hamilton, and he's been nominated for a position on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

DO THIS:

ACTION:  Please contact your Senators right away and urge them to vote AGAINST Judge David Hamilton.  You can use the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center  to send your legislators the pre-written e-mail message below.
Dear Senator:

I urge you to vote against Judge David Hamilton for the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  In addition to opposing his far left views, I don't appreciate his disdain for the Constitution.

To quote Senator Sessions, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee:
"Judge Hamilton stated in a 2003 speech that the role of a judge includes writing footnotes to the Constitution: 'Judge S. Hugh Dillin of this court has said that part of our job here as judges is to write a series of footnotes to the Constitution. We all do that every year in cases large and small.' In explaining this statement to Senator Hatch, Judge Hamilton wrote that he believes the Framers intended judges to amend the Constitution through evolving case law."

Of course, we have seen this pattern time and time again.  Judges ignore the clear wording of the Constitution -- in essence, amending the Constitution through each new case they decide.
The courts then become the vehicle for rewriting the Second Amendment!

Not surprisingly, Judge Hamilton's written answers to the Senate Judiciary Committee show his lack of understanding regarding the Second and Fourteenth Amendments.  While Hamilton cannot ignore what the Supreme Court said in DC v. Heller (2008), he refuses to admit that the individual right to keep and bear arms applies anywhere outside of Washington, D.C. -- instead, he just says he will rely on evolving "case law [as] developed in earlier incorporation cases."

Once again, evolving case law -- more often than not -- takes us away from what the Constitution actually says.

Please vote NO on David Hamilton.

Sincerely,

This is WHY you should do it:

Hamilton has made many political enemies on the right, seeing that his politics are to the far left of the political spectrum.  Oh yes, judges aren't supposed to be political, but this one has engaged in quite a bit of leftist activism.

His biggest opponent on Capitol Hill is Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.  Based on his analysis of Hamilton, gun owners should be very concerned about a judge who is all to willing to "amend the Constitution."  According to Senator Sessions:

Judge Hamilton stated in a 2003 speech that the role of a judge includes writing footnotes to the Constitution: "Judge S. Hugh Dillin of this court has said that part of our job here as judges is to write a series of footnotes to the Constitution. We all do that every year in cases large and small." In explaining this statement to Senator Hatch, Judge Hamilton wrote that he believes the Framers intended judges to amend the Constitution through evolving case law.

Of course, we have seen this pattern time and time again.  Judges ignore the clear wording of the Constitution -- in essence, amending the Constitution through each new case they decide.
The courts then become the vehicle for rewriting the Second Amendment!

Not surprisingly, Judge Hamilton's politics are to the extreme, far left.  He spent a brief stint as a fundraiser for ACORN, the organization that was an aggressive supporter of Barack Obama in the presidential election.  In addition to all the evils surrounding ACORN is the fact that the organization has lobbied against Second Amendment rights -- as seen by the New Jersey chapter supporting a one-gun-a-month ordinance in Jersey City.

Certainly any judicial nomination put forth by our anti-gun President is suspect, but it's interesting to note who his chief backer is in the U.S. Senate.  It's none other than Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana, who holds an "F" rating from Gun Owners of America.

Lugar has never failed to support one of Obama's anti-gun nominations, as evidenced by his votes for Attorney General Eric Holder, State Department lawyer Harold Koh, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and the incredibly wacky Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein.

On policy questions, Senator Lugar is no better.  To wit, he voted against repealing the gun ban in Washington, DC this year.

Considering Hamilton's extreme track record, it's no wonder that Senator Lugar -- in introducing Hamilton to his colleagues -- begged his fellow Senators to ignore the judge's policy views.  Lugar asked them not to base their votes on "partisan considerations, much less on how we hope or predict a given judicial nominee will 'vote' on particular issues of public moment or controversy."

Instead, Lugar asked his colleagues "to evaluate judicial candidates on whether they have the requisite intellect, experience, character and temperament that Americans deserve from their judges...."
In other words, ignore Judge Hamilton's liberalism and just vote for him because he's so smart and because he's such a nice guy!

Judge Hamilton's rulings have made a lot of enemies on the political right, especially the one in Hinrichs v. Bosma where, according to a November 3 editorial in The Washington Times, he "prohibited prayers in the Indiana House of Representatives that expressly mentioned Jesus Christ... yet he allowed prayers which mentioned Allah."

Gun owners have much to be concerned about, as well.  Anytime a judge who believes in rewriting the Constitution is elevated to sit as an appellate judge, that's a scary thing -- especially given the fact that most cases never reach the U.S. Supreme Court and are, thus, decided at lower levels in the federal judiciary.

This guy will be on the bench long after Øbama goes away. Let's stop him!

He is the federal judge who believes it is a violation of the first amendment for Christians to pray at school events, but is not a violation of the first amendment when Muslims pray at school events.

He is also the judge who was cited by the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals for abusing his power by keeping an injunction in place on an informed consent law despite the law clearly being constitutional.

Barack Obama has naturally appointed the man to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals — the very court that said Hamilton had abused his power.

The Employee Meeting

"Hat tip to George. Check it out:

President of the Company:

"I would like to start by thanking you for attending this meeting, though it's not like you had much of a choice. After all, attendance was mandatory. I'm also glad many of you accepted my invitation to your family members to be here as well. I have a few remarks to make to all of you, and then we'll retire to the ballroom for a great lunch and some employee awards.

"I felt that this meeting was important enough to close all 12 of our tire and automotive shops today so that you could be here. To reassure you, everybody is being paid for the day --- except me. Since our stores are closed we're making no money. That economic loss is mine to sustain. Carrington Automotive has 157 full time employees and around 30 additional part-timers. All of you are here. I thank you for that.

"When you walked into this auditorium you were handed a rather thick 78-page document. Many of you have already taken a peek. You were probably surprised to see that it's my personal tax return for 2008. Those of you who are adept at reading these tax returns will see that last year my taxable income was $534,000.00. Now I'm sure this seems rather high to many of you. So ... let's talk about this tax return.

"Carrington Automotive Enterprises is what we call a Sub-S - a Subchapter S corporation. The name comes from a particular part of our tax code. Sub-S status means that the income from all 12 of our stores is reported on my personal tax return. Businesses that report their income on the owner's personal tax return are referred to as "small businesses." So, you see now that this $534,000 is really the total taxable income - the total combined profit from all 12 of our stores. That works out to an average of a bit over $44,000 per store.

"Why did I feel it important for you to see my actual 2008 tax return? Well, there's a lot of rhetoric being thrown around today about taxes, small businesses and rich people. To the people in charge in Washington right now I'm a wealthy American making over a half-million dollars a year. Most Americans would agree: I'm just another rich guy; after all ... I had over a half-million in income last year, right? In this room we know that the reality is that I'm a small business owner who runs 12 retail establishments and employs 187 people. Now here's something that shouldn't surprise you, but it will: Just under 100 percent ... make that 99.7 percent of all employers in this country are small businesses, just like ours.

"Every one of these businesses reports their income on a personal income tax return. You need to understand that small businesses like ours are responsible for about 80 percent of all private sector jobs in this country, and about 70 percent of all jobs that have been created over the past year. You also need to know that when you hear some politician talking about rich people who earn over $200,000 or $500,000 a year, they're talking about the people who create the jobs.

"The people who are now running the show in Washington have been talking for months about raising taxes on wealthy Americans. I already know that in two years my federal income taxes are going to go up by about 4.5 percent. That happens when Obama and the Democrats allow the Bush tax cuts to expire. When my taxes climb by 4.5 percent the Democrats will be on television saying that this really isn't a tax increase. They'll explain that the Bush tax cuts have expired .. nothing more. Here at Carrington we'll know that almost 5% has been taken right off of our bottom line. And that means it will be coming off your bottom line.

"Numbers are boring, I know ... but let's talk a bit more about that $534,000. That's the money that was left last year from company revenues after I paid all of the salaries and expenses of running this business. Now I could have kept every penny of that for myself, but that would have left us with nothing to grow our business, to attract new customers and to hire new employees. You're aware that we've been talking about opening new stores in Virginia Beach and Newport News . To do that I will have to buy or lease property, construct a building and purchase inventory. I also have to hire additional people to work in those stores. These people wouldn't immediately be earning their pay. So, where do you think the money for all of this comes from? Right out of our profits .. right out of that $534,000. I need to advertise to bring customers in, especially in these tough times. Where do you think that money comes from? Oh sure, I can count it as an expense when I file my next income tax return .. but for right now that comes from either current revenues or last year's profits. Revenues right now aren't all that hot ... so do the math. A good effective advertising campaign might cost us more than $300,000.

"Is this all starting to come together for you now?

"Right now the Democrats are pushing a nationalized health care plan that, depending on who's doing the talking, will add anywhere from another two percent to an additional 4.6 percent to my taxes. If I add a few more stores, which I would like to do, and if the economy improves, my taxable income ... our business income ... could go over one million dollars! If that happens the Democrats have yet another tax waiting, another five percent plus! I've really lost track of all of the new government programs the Democrats and President Obama are proposing that they claim they will be able to finance with new taxes on what they call "wealthy Americans."

"And while we're talking about health care, let me explain something else to you. I understand that possibly your biggest complaint with our company is that we don't provide you with health insurance. That is because as your employer I believe that it is my responsibility to provide you with a safe workplace and a fair wage and to do all that I can to preserve and grow this company that provides us all with income. I no more have a responsibility to provide you with health insurance than I do with life, auto or homeowner's insurance. As you know, I have periodically invited agents for health insurance companies here to provide you with information on private health insurance plans.

"The Democrats are proposing to levy yet another tax against Carrington in the amount of 8 percent of my payroll as a penalty for not providing you with health insurance. You should know that if they do this I will be reducing every person's salary or hourly wage by that same 8 percent. This will not be done to put any more money in my pocket. It will be done to make sure that I don't suffer financially from the Democrat's efforts to place our healthcare under the control of the federal government. It is your health, not mine. It is your healthcare, not mine. These are your expenses, not mine. If you think I'm wrong about all this, I would sure love to hear your reasoning.

"Try to understand what I'm telling you here. Those people that Obama and the Democrats call "wealthy Americans" are, in very large part, America 's small business owners. I'm one of them. You have the evidence, and surely you don't think that the owner of a bunch of tire stores is anything special. That $534,000 figure on my income tax return puts me squarely in Democrat crosshairs when it comes to tax increases.

"Let's be clear about this ... crystal clear. Any federal tax increase on me is going to cost you money, not me. Any new taxes on Carrington Automotive will be new taxes that you, or the people I don't hire to staff the new stores I won't be building, will be paying. Do you understand what I'm telling you? You've heard about things rolling downhill, right? Fine ... then you need to know that taxes, like that other stuff, roll downhill. Now you and I may understand that you are not among those that the Democrats call "wealthy Americans," but when this "tax the rich" thing comes down you are going to be standing at the bottom of the mud slide, if you get my drift. That's life in the big city, my friends ... where elections have consequences.

"You know our economy is very weak right now. I've pledged to get us through this without layoffs or cuts in your wages and benefits. It's too bad the politicians can't get us through this without attacking our profits. To insure our survival I have to take a substantial portion of that $534,000 and set it aside for unexpected expenses and a worsening economy. Trouble is, the government is eyeing that money too ... and they have the guns. If they want it, they can take it.

"I don't want to make this too long. There's a great lunch waiting for us all. But you need to understand what's happening here. I've worked hard for 23 years to create this business. There were many years where I couldn't take a penny in income because every dollar was being dedicated to expanding the business. There were tough times when it took every dollar of revenues to replenish our inventory and cover your paychecks. During those times I earned nothing. If you want to see those tax returns, just let me know.

"OK ... I know I'm repeating myself here. I don't hire stupid people, and you are probably getting it now. So let me just ramble for a few more minutes. Most Americans don't realize that when the Democrats talk about raising taxes on people making more than $250 thousand a year, they're talking about raising taxes on small businesses. The U.S. Treasury Department says that six out of every ten individuals in this country with incomes of more than $280,000 are actually small business owners. About one-half of the income in this country that would be subject to these increased taxes is from small businesses like ours. Depending on how many of these wonderful new taxes the Democrats manage to pass, this company could see its tax burden increase by as much as $60,000. Perhaps more.

"I know a lot of you voted for President Obama. A lot of you voted for Democrats across the board. Whether you voted out of support for some specific policies, or because you liked his slogans, you need to learn one very valuable lesson from this election. Elections have consequences. You might have thought it would be cool to have a president who looks like you; or a president who is young, has a buff body, and speaks eloquently when there's a teleprompter in the neighborhood. Maybe you liked his promises to tax the rich. Maybe you believed his promise not to raise taxes on people earning less than a certain amount. Maybe you actually bought into his promise to cut taxes on millions of Americans who actually don't pay income taxes in the first place. Whatever the reason .. your vote had consequences; and here they are.

"Bottom line? I'm not taking this hit alone. As soon as the Democrats manage to get their tax increases on the books, I'm going to take steps to make sure that my family isn't affected. When you own the business, that is what you're allowed to do. I built this business over a period of 23 years, and I'm not going to see my family suffer because we have a president and a congress who think that wealth is distributed rather than earned. Any additional taxes, of whatever description, that President Obama and the Democrats inflict on this business will come straight out of any funds I have set aside for expansion or pay and benefit increases. Any plans I might have had to hire additional employees for new stores will be put aside. Any plans for raises for the people I now have working for me will be shelved. Year-end bonuses might well be eliminated. That may sound rough, but that's the reality.

"You're going to continue to hear a lot of anti-wealth rhetoric out there from the media and from the left. You can chose to believe what you wish .. .but when it comes to Carrington Automotive you will know the truth. The books are open to any of you at any time. I have nothing to hide. I would hope that other small business owners out there would hold meetings like this one, but I know it won't happen that often. One of the lessons to be learned here is that taxes ... all taxes ... and all regulatory costs that are placed on businesses anywhere in this country, will eventually be passed right on down to individuals; individuals such as yourself. This hasn't been about admonishing anyone and it hasn't been about issuing threats. This is part of the education you should have received in the government schools, but didn't.

"Class is now dismissed."

A lesson every citizen should hear.

National or Local?

I've been thinking alot about the conversation at our last meeting about whether we should "storm the gates" of the National Republican Party to demand they bend to our will...or whether we should concentrate on our local Congressional and Senate races.

I've come down on the side of "localism". Here's why:

If we were to attempt the massive remake of the National Republican Party, who exactly would we go to? What would we demand? What would we use as leverage? And even if we "won", how would the National Party's surrender affect the makeup of Congress?

The national party does not control the local parties. The National Party does not nominate Congressional or Senate candidates. Do we really think National dictating to locals would go over well? And, is that what we really want??

Isn't that exactly what we're fighting against? Centralized Power?

Look, Michael Steele can't demand the San Mateo GOP do his bidding and nominate a Conservative instead of a RINO. He didn't want ScuzzyWuzzy nominated in NY23...but that's what he got. And felt bound to finance and support her because she was the duly chosen Republican candidate of the local party.

He also can't dictate that they nominate a RINO instead of a Conservative...and that's a good thing!

In other words, you can't remake the GOP from the TOP DOWN!

Congress is IN Washington...but Congress does not COME FROM Washington.

It comes from local districts with local politics - and States. I believe that every 9.12 group in every district and State must do all they can to effect change of ONE Congressman and TWO Senators...and if they all DO that...we will have a whole new Congress.

And a whole new Republican Party.

If we spend our energy and time concentrating on the National Party....local Republicans will be willy-nilly nominating RINOS and Liberal Republicans, and we'll be no better off than we are.

We're "grassroots" and that, by definition is personal, individual and local.

I GET it. It IS frustrating being in California where it's so hard to get conservatives nominated let alone elected. But that is the battle we face...sucks to be us.

The answer to changing Washington is for every 9.12 group to do whatever it takes to move their local Republican Party to the right —"By Whatever Means Necessary"—and collectively it will have the national results we seek. And that means we target the San Mateo County GOP...whose meeting is Thursday night.

The more people we recruit into the game, the better chance we have of success!

Happily I believe that's exactly what all the 9.12 Project groups around the country are doing. And I think we need to do our part.

So... that's my opinion...until someone convinces me otherwise.

Henry's List...

A conservative believes that our inalienable rights do not include housing, healthcare or Hummers.

A conservative believes that our inalienable rights DO include the pursuit of happiness. That means it is guaranteed to no one.

A conservative believes that those who pursue happiness and find it have a right to not be penalized for that success.

A conservative believes that there are no protections against the hardship and heartache of failure. We believe that the right to fail is just as important as the chance to succeed and that those who do fail learn essential lessons that will help them the next time around.

A conservative believes in personal responsibility and accepts the consequences for his or her words and actions.

A conservative believes that real compassion can't be found in any government program.

A conservative believes that each of us has a duty to take care of our neighbors. It was private individuals, companies and congregations that sent water, blankets and supplies to New Orleans far before the government ever set foot there.

A conservative believes that family is the cornerstone of our society and that people have a right to manage their family any way they see fit, so long as it's not criminal. We are far more attuned to our family's needs than some faceless, soulless government program.

A conservative believes that people have a right to worship the God of their understanding. We also believe that people do not have the right to jam their version of God (or no God) down anybody else's throat.

A conservative believes that people go to the movies to be entertained and to church to be preached to, not the other way around.

A conservative believes that debt creates unhealthy relationships. Everyone, from the government on down, should live within their means and strive for financial independence.

A conservative believes that a child's education is the responsibility of the parents, not the government.

A conservative believes that every human being has a right to life, from conception to death.

A conservative believes in the smallest government you can get without anarchy. We know our history: The larger a government gets, the harder it will fall.

Chuck DeVore and other Conservative Senate Candidates

Senate Conservatives Fund with a summary of eight Senate elections we should target including California:
CALIFORNIA - Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) has an even more liberal record. She scored only 4% on the SCF scorecard, and she's leading the effort to impose a massive cap-and-trade energy tax on American families. There are two viable Republicans in the race to replace her: Assemblyman Chuck DeVore and businesswoman Carly Fiorina. Chuck DeVore is a tested, conservative leader we can count on to stand up for the principles of freedom. Senate Conservatives Fund endorses Chuck DeVore.
I suggest we work to help DeVore win the Republican primary!

Gun Control History - and its inevitable results

After reading the following historical facts, read the part about Switzerland twice.!

A LITTLE GUN HISTORY
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control... From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. >From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated
------------------------------

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated
------------------------------

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------------

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th century because of gun control: 56 million.
------------------------------

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by New law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

List of 7 items:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent.

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent.

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300%. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the
criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late! The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson. With guns, we are 'citizens.' Without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED! If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends.

The purpose of fighting is to win.. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.

SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN!
Switzerland issues every household a gun.
Switzerland's government trains every adult they issue a rifle.
Switzerland has the lowest gun related crime rate of any civilized country in the world!
It's a no brainer!
Don't let our government waste millions of our tax dollars in an effort to make all law abiding citizens an easy target!

I'm a firm believer of the 2nd Amendment! If you are too, please forward.

Just think how powerful our government is getting! They think these other countries just didn't do it right. Learn from history.

Finally, A Sensible Gun Registration Plan That will WORK!

Forwarded by our Second Amendment Chairman, Rob Heagy:

Vermont State Rep. Fred Maslack has read the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, as well as his states own Constitution very carefully, and his strict interpretation of these documents is popping some eyeballs in New England and elsewhere.

Maslack recently proposed a bill to register "non-gun-owners" and require them to pay a $500 fee to the state. Thus Vermont would become the first state to require a permit for the luxury of going about unarmed and assess a fee of $500 for the privilege of not owning a gun. Maslack read the "militia" phrase of the Second Amendment as not only affirming the right of the individual citizen to bear arms, but as a clear mandate to do so.

He believes that universal gun ownership was advocated by the Framers of the Constitution as an antidote to a "monopoly of force" by the government as well as criminals. Vermont 's constitution states explicitly that "the people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and the State" and those persons who are "conscientiously scrupulous of bearing arms" shall be required to "pay such equivalent." Clearly, says Maslack, Vermonters have a constitutional obligation to arm themselves, so that they are capable of responding to "any situation that may arise."

Under the bill, adults who choose not to own a firearm would be required to register their name, address, Social Security Number, and driver's license number with the state. "There is a legitimate government interest in knowing who is not prepared to defend the state should they be asked to do so,"

Maslack says Vermont already boasts a high rate of gun ownership along with the least restrictive laws of any state .. it's currently the only state that allows a citizen to carry a concealed firearm without a permit. This combination of plenty of guns and few laws regulating them has resulted in a crime rate that is the third lowest in the nation.

"America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." This makes sense! There is no reason why gun owners should have to pay taxes to support police protection for people not wanting to own guns. Let them contribute their fair share and pay their own way.
